You’re a disaster in the kitchen, just order pizza.
Not exactly what you want to hear, right?
This project explores the delicate balance of power between humanity and AI, questioning the extent to which we grant AI authority, and the potential consequences of such empowerment.

01 CONCEPT
By leveraging real AI-generated prompts and voices, we revealed the alarming ease with which AI can be manipulated to produce harmful and insensitive language.
Inspired by BUCK's prompt, "Opposing Forces", our team explored the complex interplay between humanity, design, and technology.
Users start by prompting Iris, our AI assistant, and experiencing a unique visual and auditory response, by seamlessly integrating 3D and interactive prototyping into our storyline.

02 DESIGN
Users interacted with Iris through nine distinct prompts, across wellness activities, email writing, and social planning.
Notably, the responses from Iris were designed to escalate in aggravation as users continued interacting, adding a layer of dynamic engagement and surprise.

03 TEAMWORK
The team’s diverse skillset proved to be our superpower, driving creative strength and innovative solutions.
As a team lead, I cultivated a collaborative environment where open communication and constructive feedback were encouraged, resulting in experimentation, risk taking, and adaptability. I also provided more structure by defining a clear objective, delegating tasks, providing support for learning new software, and ensuring a timely completion for the showcase.

04 TAKEAWAYS
This project is a testament to the power of collaborative teamwork, adaptability, and a shared passion for pushing creative boundaries.
The feedback from the community was incredibly rewarding – many described Iris as a memorable experience because it evoked a strong emotional response.
Iris serves as a stark reminder that AI, despite its advanced capabilities, lacks the nuanced understanding of human emotion and context necessary to avoid causing harm. Even with all the safeguards in place, it is easy to manipulate and provide biased information and insensitive language.
